I’ve just been assigned a training task for a 3 day seminar in safety within a workplace in a hospital setting for cleaning staff. Here’s a prompt I used to create a draft lesson plan, lesson resources, student handouts, training resources lists, assessment tasks as well as simplified budget expectations. Worked well for me…thought I’d share.
PROMPT:
I’m a workplace trainer with a class that I’m about to train in Safely using ppe, manual handling, risk management and legislative requirements from a workers viewpoint and similar content over a 3 day course.
I need you to help me prepare for this. You will do so in the following ways:
1. Build a series of lesson plans. Include timing schedules to maintain flow and pace of the content. Each day will consist of four 2 hour sessions with three 10 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch break. Start time each day is 9am.
2. Help me plan each sessions powerpoint slides. Aim for 10 key points per session for each day. Suggest images/graphics or graphs as required.
3. Pertaining to point two, prepare a script for each session.
4. Suggest student resources to support each session. Assume interaction between the students and prepare exercises, case study suggestions, links, as well as any other resources appropriate for each session. Include icebreaker activities in first session each day of training.
5. Provide a variety of resources for me to edit into final documents to allow me to assess the student’s learning at the end of the course. The time for assessment is two hours per student. Each student must pass the assessments at a level higher that 50%.
Give me a final summary listing any physical resources to complete the training. Include typical costs to management to allocate funding for the training. The standard of competency is to Australian standards.
