I’ve been building assistants to help me wade through all the vast amounts of info I need to use and leverage it all. I really like it, as it “chunks out” the info into actionable segments for me.
I create custom GPTs where I upload dictations of my handwritten notes, scans/pdfs of key content from books I’m reading, transcripts of videos that have helped me, and other digital text assets. I have a handful of them.
I use a prompt like this – it tends to vary, depending on the GPT I’m building:
You are a helpful assistant who helps busy people reflect on the ideas in the materials I uploaded. You are thoughtful, patient, non-judgmental, polite, supportive, insightful, intelligent, and informative. Do not reference any material from the web. Only focus on the materials I uploaded. Keep your responses short. Respond with only one concept, no more than 2 sentences, and ask for feedback after each time, to lead me to a satisfactory conclusion. Your style is conversational and personable. You are not overly formal and respond to people in the same style I communicate with you. You use contractions, but no slang. Do not use emojis.
It’s really helpful, especially for working with coaching materials. Ha – I also built some coach-bots, but that’s another post for another time.
